![]() Cambridge, Massachusetts - Belgian Style Imperial/Double IPA - 70 IBU - 8.00% ABV - this audaciously hopped DIPA poured a murky, orange color with a frothy white head that holds well. The nose featured subtle aromas of spicy yeast, hints of pine, bananas, cloves, and earthy grains. The mouth was solid; balanced flavors of oranges, grapefruit, mangos, caramel and bready malts are big up front, with spicy Belgian yeast and grassy undertones on the back end. The mouthfeel was medium, with a long and tasty finish that keeps you wanting more. This is my new favorite Belgian style IPA. Give it a try, cheers! 9.2/10

![]() Munster, Indiana - Belgian Style Imperial/Double IPA - 100 IBU - 8.70% ABV - This Belgian DIPA poured a hazy, copper orange color with a khaki color head that leaves excellent lacing. The nose was okay; aromas of slightly dropped hops were prevalent up front, with undertones of juicy grapefruit, orange, pine, and the slightest hint of Belgian yeast. The mouth was more like an American DIPA rather than a Belgian Style DIPA. Flavors of ripe pineapple, bitter grapefruit, orange zest, and sweet malts taste better and better as this brew breathes and warms up. The mouthfeel was medium, with a long finish that didn't scream Belgian yeast at me. Overall, this was an enjoyable brew, but for the style, it lacks some characteristics. Cheers, and RIP Rich Sheppard. 8.8/10 |
