![]() San Diego, California - Imperial Porter -10.0% ABV - This rich porter poured a deep char-black color with a khaki colored, frothy head. The nose was wonderful; decadent aromas of freshly brewed coffee, vanilla bean, cocoa nibs, sweet caramel, and toasted malts come together nicely. The mouth featured exquisite flavors of fresh coffee grounds, semi-sweet chocolate, bitter malts, and vanilla that taste even better as it warms. Victory at Sea has a heavy bodied mouthfeel with a creamy, long finish that leave lasting flavors on the palate. This is my favorite Imperial Porter in which I recommend to all. Cheers! 9.7/10

![]() Redlands, California - Imperial Porter - 8.5% ABV - This ale poured a pitch black color with a khaki colored head. Aromas of sweet pumpkin, yams, roasted malts, spices, and caramel notes compose the nose. The mouth has a medium-plus feel with a silky long finish while having flavors of ripe pumpkin, caramel, and sweet malts on the front, and spices, chocolate, as well as gingerbread notes on the back end. This is my personal favorite pumpkin beer - it's complex, yet balanced. I suggest this for next Thanksgiving, cheers! 4.2/5 |
