Escondido, California - Imperial/Double IPA - 10.80% ABV - This hop blasted DIPA poured a clear, copper gold color, with a beautiful white head that leaves excellent lacing on the glass. The nose featured hoppy aromas of grapefruit peel, oranges, resinous pine, and sweet malts that tickle the senses. The mouth was tasty; flavors of citrus and sweet pine are prevalent up front, with a back-end full of intense malts. RuinTen has a medium-plus mouthfeel with a long, resinous finish that stains the palate. This brew is certainly for all of the hop heads that are out there; it's very tasty, but I prefer the Enjoy By. Cheers! 9.4/10

Escondido, California - Imperial/Double IPA - 9.4% ABV - This hop filled Double IPA poured a clear, golden-copper color with a frothy white head that leaves excellent lacing on the glass. Devastatingly dank aromas of resinous pine, guava fruit, grapefruit zest, lemon peel, and sweet malts come together nicely to create a beautiful bouquet of a nose. The mouth featured juicy tropical fruit flavors of pineapple, hints of mango, fresh guava, and resinous pine on the front, while having undertones of bitter grapefruit and malts on the back end. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, while having a zesty, crisp, long finish. Enjoy this delicious DIPA by Independence Day, it may just set you free. It's very balanced, and features a wonderful, tropical fruit hop-profile. 9.7/10

Chico, California - Imperial/Double IPA - 10.40% ABV - This hop-forward DIPA poured a clear, copper-gold color with a frothy white head that leaves excellent lacing on the glass. The nose featured distinct aromas of resinous pine, dank pineapple, fresh mango, and caramel malts that tickle the senses. The mouth was solid; flavors of citrus, juicy pineapple, sticky pine, and bitter malts create a great DIPA taste. Hoptimum has a medium-plus bodied mouthfeel, with a long, hoppy finish that lingers around the mouth for quite some time. This year's release of Hoptimum is just as good as it always is; pure hoppy dankness. Cheers to another great brew by Sierra Nevada! 9.3/10

Decorah, Iowa - Imperial/Double IPA - 8.0% ABV - This King-like Double IPA poured a murky, gold color with a small head that holds well. Hops burst right out of the glass and into the nose; aromas of ripe pineapple, fresh oranges, mango, and caramel malts come together blissfully. The mouth was fantastic; flavors of oranges and pineapple are big up front, with undertones of mango, melon, and papaya on the back-end; it was almost like a tropical fruit juice. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with a creamy, long, hop-forward finish that coats the palate nicely. This is a masterpiece of a collaboration between Toppling Goliath and Tree House, no wonder why it deserved the name, (King) David. Thank you for sharing Kevin @usckevin, cheers! 9.7/10

Alpine, California - Imperial/Double India Pale Ale - 8.00% ABV - This bitter-sweet Double IPA poured a copper gold color with a fluffy white head that leaves excellent lacing on the glass. The nose featured hop-forward aromas of tropical fruit, resinous pine, sweet malts, and caramel that burst into the nose, followed by a slight, boozy undertone. The mouth was solid; flavors of resinous pine, guava, and grapefruit are balanced by the sweet caramel backbone that this brew brings forward. Pure Hoppiness has a medium bodied mouthfeel, with a sweet, crisp, and tasteful finish that leaves a lasting impression. I need to get my hands on some more of Alpine's hoppy brews, they're fantastic. 9.5/10

Milton, Delaware - The Imperial India Pale Ale - 18.00% ABV - This monster of an IPA poured a hazy golden-copper color with a fluffy white head that dissipates quickly. Intense aromas of sweet molasses, sharp pine, vanilla, dark fruits, oak, and booze create a barley wine-like nose. The mouth was very unique; flavors of caramel, raisins, honey, caramel, vanilla, and oak come together to emulate a port wine taste. The mouthfeel was heavy bodied, with a long, sweet, and balanced finish that creeps up on you after a few sips. The 120 Minute IPA is one of the biggest beers I've ever had, which surprisingly had a well hidden alcohol profile. Cheers to Dogfish Head and their outstandingly outrageous beers! 9.3/10

Brooklyn, New York - Imperial/Double IPA - 103 IBU - 9.10% ABV - This hop-forward Double IPA poured a slightly hazy, golden orange color with a frothy head that holds nicely. The nose was solid; resinous pine, grapefruit, pineapple, honey, and sweet malt aromas come together beautifully. The mouth featured dank flavors of sticky pine, candied malts, hints of caramel, and bitter grapefruit that create a well-balanced DIPA. Resin has a medium-bodied mouthfeel, that leaves resinous hop flavors on the palate after each sip. I personally enjoyed Resin more than Hi-Res from Sixpoint- they certainly know how to whip up some tasty brews, cheers! 9.4/10
