![]() Milton, Delaware - American IPA - 7.0% ABV - Aprihop poured a copper orange color, with a frothy white head that holds well and leaves excellent lacing on the glass. The nose featured subtle aromas of oranges, apricots, jasmine flowers, earthy grains, and caramel malts. Flavors of ripe apricots, orange peel, pine, and floral notes create a balanced, but muted mouth. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with a silky, short finish that could have used more apricots. This was a good IPA, but I was expecting huge notes of apricot to burst in my mouth. Despite the undershot expectation, this is still a well-crafted brew by Dogfish Head. Cheers! 8.3/10 ![]() Tampa, Florida - India Pale Ale - 7.50% ABV - This unfiltered IPA poured a hazy, copper-orange color, with a frothy white head that leaves excellent lacing on the glass. The nose featured distinct aromas of cedar wood, pungent orange zest, spicy tobacco, and pepper, while having a big malt character. The mouth was interesting; up front, there's a big cedar characteristic, kind of like tasting a cigar box, followed by ripe tropical fruits, with a big malty backbone. This IPA has a medium-bodied mouthfeel, with a crisp, long finish that lingers in the mouth. I loved what Cigar City did with this IPA, however, I like their White Oak Jai Alai better. Cheers to a great IPA by CCB and thanks to my man@mrbryson for getting this out to me! 9.1/10 ![]() Long Beach, California – India Pale Ale – 99 IBU – 7.10% ABV – This citra-full IPA poured a slightly murky, pale gold color, with a frothy white head that holds well. The nose was excellent; hop-forward aromas of fresh pineapple, lemon peel, pungent grapefruit, tangerine, and bready malts create such a beautiful bouquet of scents. The mouth featured crisp citrus flavors of grapefruit, oranges, passion fruit, and guava up front, with a bitter malt backbone that cuts into the citrus well. The mouthfeel was medium-minus bodied, with a lingering, zesty finish. Citraholic was a solid IPA profiling the Citra hop. I highly recommend this IPA to all of the hop heads out there; @beachwoodbbq_brewing does not disappoint.
