![]() Grand Rapids, Michigan - American Porter - 6.50% ABV - This roasty porter poured an opaque black color with a small brown head that left excellent lacing on the glass. The nose featured aromas of dark chocolate, subtle coffee notes, and toasted malts, while having a slight nutty sensation. This was a well balanced porter; flavors of chocolate, sweet molasses, hints of coffee, and roasted barley come together to create a smooth taste. Founders Porter has a medium bodied mouthfeel with a roasty, crisp finish that represents the style well. I'm not the biggest fan of single porters, but this one was quite tasty, cheers. 9.2/10

![]() Baltimore, Maryland - Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter - 6.5% ABV - This dessert-like brew poured a pitch black color, with a small khaki-brown colored head. The nose is insane - It smells like Reese's Peanut Butter cups with big aromas of milk chocolate, creamy peanut butter, with a back end filled with dark roasted malts. Like the nose, the mouth was like candy. Flavors of chocolate and peanut butter are prevalent up front, while having undertones of sweet malts and molasses that tie everything together. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied with a creamy, smooth finish. Thank you to my man Bob who helped me get this interesting treat. I'll definitely be getting more of this brew for it was the best peanut butter-chocolate beer I've ever had. Cheers! 9.2/10 |
