Paso Robles, California - Saison/Farmhouse Ale - 7.50% ABV - The Opal Saison poured an elegant golden straw color with an effervescent head that dissipates quickly. The nose featured aromas of spicy yeast, apricots, fresh pineapple, white pepper, and hints of cloves up front, with undertones of cloves and Pinot Gris Wine on the back end. The mouth was solid; flavors of lemon grass, citrus, kiwi, spicy yeast, and tart wine create a very palatable taste. Opal has a light bodied mouthfeel, with a clean and refreshing finish that quenched your thirst with each sip. I'm glad that Firestone began to bottle their Saison- it's definitely a great brew. Cheers! 8.9/10

Escondido, California - Saison/Farmhouse Ale - 6.00% ABV - This herbaceous ale poured a golden-yellow color with a fizzy white head that dissipates fairly quickly. The nose was stellar; aromas of fresh lavender, basil leaves, thyme, juicy pears, and undertones of coriander come together nicely. The mouth was solid as well- flavors of lemon, grass, thyme, coriander, orange peel, and bready malts create a wonderfully balanced taste. The mouthfeel was medium-minus with a crisp and juicy finish that keeps your thirst quenched. I am very pleased with Stone’s new Saison release - I recommend everyone to check it out and give it a try. Cheers! 8.7/10

Kansas City, Missouri - Saison/Farmhouse Ale - 8.5% ABV - This Ale poured a honey-gold color with a bubbly white head. The nose featured aromas of peach, Belgian yeast, sweet malt, tropical fruits, and bubblegum. The mouth was clean and crisp while featuring flavors of funky yeast, bubblegum, fruity-sweetness, and spice, as well as an undertone of bitter dryness. This saison is beautiful on both the nose and the mouth. Cheers! 4.5/5

Imperial Cherrywood-Smoked Saison - 10.5% ABV - This smoked saison poured a bright cherry-orange color with a white head. The nose was certainly interesting; notes of smoked wood, char, cloves, peppery spices, and hints of other white flowers. The mouth feel was silky and thick, but carries a big character. You definitely taste the cherrywood in this saison. However, the smokiness balances the classic floral flavors you get from a Saison. This was an overall good beer - definitely something unique and different. Cheers, Matt! This one is for you. 4.45/5
