Paso Robles, California - Session India Pale Ale - 4.50% ABV - This sessionable IPA poured a clear, pale amber color with a small layer of white foam that dissipates quickly. The nose featured subtle aromas of ripe pineapple, juicy oranges, pine needles, and bitter grapefruit. The mouth was refreshing; crisp flavors of grapefruit juice, mango, resinous pine, and floral undertones create a clean tasting SIPA. The mouthfeel was light bodied, with a supple, yet flavorful finish. This was a solid representation of a session IPA in which I recommend everyone to try. I enjoyed this brew at Lordsburg in La Verne, CA. They have one of the best tap selections that I've ever seen. Cheers! 8.4/10

Atlantic Highlands New Jersey - Pale Ale - 4.2% ABV - This very sessionable ale poured a murky, yellow orange color with a bubbly white head that dissipates quickly. The nose featured aromas of vibrant citrus, a burst of grapefruit juice, oranges, and hints white flowers. The mouth was great; it had a hop forward front with flavors of citrus, pine, floral undertones, and a slight funkiness, with a back end of bready malts. The mouth feel was light, while having a crisp and clean finish. The Boat Beer is certainly something you can session with, while not getting too drunk or tired of the brew. Cheers to a great beer from Carton! 8.8/10

Solana Beach, California - Session IPA - 4.5% ABV - This sessionable IPA poured a murky, golden straw color, with a fluffy white head that holds nicely. Subtle aromas of floral hops, hints of skunk, light citrus, and rich malts come together to create a zesty, bright nose. The mouthfeel is very light, with flavors of bready malts up front, citrus, and grapefruit, while having an earthy backbone. It's light body and crisp finish is great for any poolside occasion. Cheers to this solid S.I.P.A. by Pizza Port! 8.7/10

Escondido, California - Session IPA - 4.5% ABV - This hop bursted IPA poured a light, clear golden color with a fluffy white head. Vibrant aromas of grapefruit, freshly cut grass, resinous pine, and hints of pineapple come together to create a clean, subtle nose. The mouth features crisp flavors of grapefruit, earthy/floral notes, pine, and hints of bready malts. The mouthfeel is very light, but it has such a refreshing finish. Yes, it's not an in-your-face IPA, but it's not intended to be. Stone did a solid job creating this sessionable beaut. Cheers! 8.6/10

Petaluma, California - Session IPA - 4.65% ABV - This ale poured a clear, golden-straw color with a foamy white head. Subtle aromas of oranges, lemon zest, sweet pine, grapefruit, and biscuity malts come together nicely on the nose. DayTime Ale features flavors of lemongrass, tangerine, resinous pine, and grapefruit on the front, with hints of sweet bready malts and light acidity on the back end. The mouthfeel is light, with a clean and crisp finish. In terms of this being a session IPA, it certainly rocks the style. I recommend this brew to all, but especially to the "new-to-IPA" drinker. Cheers! 4.3/5
