![]() Boulder, Colorado - Imperial Stout - 15.4% ABV - This complex stout poured a pitch black color, which left a small layer of a mocha-colored head that dissipated quickly. The nose has decadent aromas of roasted espresso, dark chocolate, and molasses, which are big up front, with a back end featuring some boozy and dark fruit notes. This is a huge brew, which can certainly be paired with a cigar – rich flavors of sweet caramel, dark chocolate, and espresso come first, with a back bone of charred, oaky-booze. The mouthfeel is full-bodied, which has a velvety-balanced finish. Mephistopheles’ Stout is certainly a sipper, which I recommend to those looking for a big and robust kick. Cheers to the fallen angel, Mephistopheles. 9.6/10
