![]() Milton, Delaware - Barley Wine - 15.0% ABV - This huge ale poured a hazy copper bronze color with a bubbly off-white head. The nose featured aromas of sweet molasses, figs, dates, honey, plums, and boozy malts. The mouth was sweeter than I expected; flavors of sugary fruits, such as citrus and raisins, caramelized dates, peaches, and figs are all big up front, with a slightly boozy back end. The mouthfeel is heavy, with a velvety-long finish. Olde School is a solid barleywine, but it was a little too sweet for my palate. Cheers to the guys at Dogfish Head - they're always releasing interesting brews! 8.4/10
