![]() Paso Robles, California - English Barleywine - 12.50% ABV - This savory barleywine poured an opaque, dark brownish-red color with a small layer of khaki colored foam that dissipates quickly. The nose featured decadent aromas of vanilla, marshmallow, coconut, caramel, toffee nut, raisins, and sweet molasses. The mouth was wonderful; flavors of golden raisins, vanilla, aged oak, toffee, coconut, bourbon, and sweet malts create one of the most balanced tasting, barrel-aged beers, that I've ever had. The mouthfeel was dead on too. It had a full-bodied feel, with a silky, low carbonated finish. This release was even better than the 2014; I need to get my hands on one of the older variants. Cheers to a solid brew and Happy Easter! 97/100
